overpaid.fyi is designed with your privacy as a priority. This Privacy Policy explains how the Tool handles (or more accurately, does not handle) your data.

2. Data Processing

All PDF processing occurs entirely within your web browser. Your tax documents, financial data, and personal information are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any external server. When you close or refresh the page, all data is discarded.

3. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

• Your tax documents or PDFs
• Your financial data, cost basis figures, or transaction details
• Your Social Security number or taxpayer identification number
• Any personally identifiable information from your documents

4. Analytics

We may use basic analytics tools to understand general usage patterns, such as page views and feature usage. These analytics never include any financial data, tax information, or document contents. Analytics data is limited to standard web metrics (e.g., page visits, browser type, general geographic region).

5. Third-Party Services

The Tool includes a voluntary “tip jar” link that directs to Stripe for payment processing. If you choose to leave a tip, your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and is subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your payment details.

6. Cookies

overpaid.fyi does not use cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. If analytics tools are implemented, they may use minimal cookies solely for aggregating anonymous usage statistics.

7. Children's Privacy

The Tool is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
